Lina Hossam

Marine Biologist | Research Assistant

Lina is currently studying Biology at the American University in Cairo concentrating in Marine Biology. Born and raised in Egypt, she was therefore able to witness the changes and the growing threats in the Red Sea with her own eyes. This led her to develop an interest and passion for the Red Sea and it's pristine marine life at a young age.

Lina is involved in managing all day to day aspects in RED SEA PROJECT™. She is directly involved in all our educational programs and have conducted several capacity building and public awareness programs in Arabic, English and French. She is experienced diver and professionally trained in scientific diving, coral reefs and sea-grass beds surveys, dugongs and sea turtles monitoring.

Lina is very passionate about the concept of Marine Citizen Science, therefor she is managing our mega-fauna identification programs (such as cetaceans, marine turtles, sharks, etc.). These identification programs are implemented using the latest technologies, or more precisely through Artificial Intelligence.
